François D'Haene (born December 24, 1985 in Lille , France ) is a French mountain and ultramarathon runner . D'Haene was the overall winner of the Ultra-Trail World Tour in 2014 and 2017

Life

D'Haene was a member of an athletics club from childhood. In his youth he turned more and more to mountain sports and, in addition to his training as a physiotherapist, began mountain running. In June 2006, he first took part in an ultra trail, the 72 km long Tour Glaciers de la Vanoise , and won. In the years that followed, D'Haene only occasionally started in ultra-marathons and mountain races due to his job. After his 5th place in the Grand Raid 2009, he became a member of the Salomon team. Prelude to giving priority to running.

D'Haene won the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in 2012, 2014 and 2017 , the Grand Raid in 2013, 2014 and 2016 and was the overall winner of the Ultra-Trail World Tour in 2014 and 2017.

He is the father of two children and has been running the four and a half hectare Domaine du Germain winery in Saint-Julien in Beaujolais with his wife since 2011 .

D'Haene starts for the French sports club EA Chambéry .
