François Lachat (born August 2, 1942 in Bonfol , resident in Bonfol, Porrentruy and Delémont ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Lachat was a councilor in the canton of Bern from 1970 to 1976 and then became the first president of the Jura parliament from 1976 to 1979. From 1979 to 1994 he was finance and police minister in the cantonal government of the canton of Jura . In 1979, 1984, 1988 and 1993 he was the district president. He was also a member of the management of CVP Switzerland from 1982 to 1992 ; since 1997 he has been vice president.

From the 1995 to 2003 elections , Lachat was a member of the National Council .
