Small theater in Lucerne on Bundesplatz

The Kleintheater Luzern is a theater in Lucerne . The program consists of cabaret, spoken and dance theater, children's theater, music and literature. It is not only known as a stage for already famous cabaret artists, musicians and other stage performers, but since its inception as a springboard for as yet unknown regional stage artists.

history

The theater was founded in 1967 by Emil Steinberger and his first wife Maya Steinberger on a private initiative under the name of Kleintheater am Bundesplatz . In 1978 it was converted into the "Small Theater Foundation Lucerne". It is one of the oldest small stages in Switzerland. Before the conversion to a theater, the premises with 200 seats were called Tele-Café . It was shown on Swiss television using an Eidophor projector. Later cooks at work were filmed there and their work was broadcast on the screen in the café. The audience could watch and taste this.
