Francesco Follo

Francesco Follo (born October 22, 1946 in Pandino ) is an Italian priest and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Francesco Follo was ordained a priest on June 28, 1970 . After working as pastor of the Church of San Marco Evangelista in Casirate d'Adda (1970-1976), he continued his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome , where he received a doctorate in philosophy in 1984 . From 1976 to 1984 he worked as a journalist for the magazine Letture of the center of San Fedele by the Jesuits in Milan . He became a member of the Order of Journalists in 1978. In 1982 he held the post of Deputy Director of the weekly La Vita Cattolica . From 1978 to 1983 he was professor of cultural anthropology and philosophy at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. Between 1984 and 2002 he worked in the State Secretariat of the Holy See in the Vatican . During this time he was professor of the history of Greek philosophy at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome (1988-1989).

The Pope appointed him on 27 May 2000 concerning the honorary prelate of His Holiness . On May 11, 2002, John Paul II appointed him permanent observer of the Holy See to UNESCO and the Latin Union and delegate to the International Council on Monuments and Sites in Paris . Since 2004 he has also been a member of the scientific advisory board of the magazine Oasis (a specialist magazine for interreligious and intercultural dialogue).
