Francesco Maria Pandolfi Alberici

Francesco Maria Pandolfi Alberici (born March 18, 1764 in Orvieto , † June 3, 1835 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

He came from a family of the patriciate of Orvieto and was canon at the local cathedral .

On June 3, 1814, at the age of 50, he entered the service of the Roman Curia as papal house prelate . On October 5, 1814 he became a trainee lawyer and on March 9, 1816 Ponens of the Sacra Congregazione della Consulta , later prelate of the Congregation for Ecclesiastical Immunity and the Council Congregation . On July 5, 1829 Pope Pius VIII appointed him canon of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and on March 15, 1830 Maestro di camera . In these positions he was held by Pope Gregory XVI. confirmed and kept it until his admission to the college of cardinals .

In the consistory of September 30, 1831 , Gregory XVI. him in pectore cardinal, this was announced on July 2, 1832, and on December 17 of the same year he, now a cardinal priest , received Santa Prisca as the titular church . The Pope assigned him to the Congregation for Indulgences and Holy Relics , the Congregazione della Consulta , the Congregation for the Administration of Goods and the Congregation for the Water Supply.

Francesco Maria Pandolfi Alberici died three years later and was buried in his titular church, Santa Prisca .
