Francesco Zantedeschi
Francesco Zantedeschi (born August 18, 1797 in Dolcè (Verona), † March 29, 1873 ) was an Italian priest and physicist . Most recently he was Professor of Physics at the University of Padua .
In the years 1829 and 1830 Zantedeschi published conjectures about the generation of an electrical voltage in closed electrical circuits by the movement of magnets . He took part in the experiments of Michael Faraday in 1831. In 1849 he was elected to the Leopoldina , in 1852 he was appointed a corresponding member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .
During his research on the solar system , Zantedeschi was one of the first to recognize that the earth's atmosphere noticeably filters the proportion of red, yellow and green light . It is believed that he had also discovered the connection between light and magnetism long before Maxwell's theory in 1867.
