Francis Kerbiriou (born March 11, 1951 in Rennes ) is a former French sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
Sporting successes
Kerbiriou celebrated his greatest sporting success at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich when he won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay together with Gilles Bertould , Daniel Roger Vélasquez and Jacques Carette . In a national record time of 3: 00.65 min, the French quartet only had to admit defeat to the teams from Kenya (2: 59.83 min) and the United Kingdom (3: 00.46 min).
Kerbiriou also took part in the individual competition over 400 m, but was eliminated in the quarterfinals. His start at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal was less successful, as he was eliminated in both the individual and the relay in the first round.
In 1972 and 1975 Kerbiriou was French champion in the 400-meter run.
Francis Kerbiriou is 1.78 m tall and weighed 66 kg during his playing days.
