Francisc Spielmann or - Hungarian - Ferenc Sárvári (born July 10, 1916 in Nagyvárad , Austria-Hungary (today Oradea , Romania ), † November 21, 1974 ibid) was a Romanian and Hungarian football player . He played a total of 262 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság .
Career as a player
Francisc Spielmann began playing football at the age of ten in his hometown of Oradea near Stăruința . At the beginning of 1935 he transferred to local rivals CAO Oradea , of the then Romanian in the highest soccer league, the Divizia A played. On March 10, 1935 he came there in the local derby against Crișana for his first use. At the end of the 1934/35 season was the runner-up.
Spielmann stayed with CAO until 1939, although the club had already been relegated to Divizia B in 1937 . Then he moved to UDR Reșița back to Divizia A. After his hometown had fallen to Hungary through the Second Vienna Arbitration , he returned there and played again for his old club, which now played as Nagyváradi AC in the NB II . After promotion in 1941, the club developed into one of the best in Hungary and Spielmann was able to win the Hungarian championship in the 1944 season. He was also the top scorer in the same year with 23 goals in 30 games.
After the end of the Second World War Oradea came back to Romania and Nagyváradi AC as Libertatea Oradea back to Divizia A. There Spielmann was able to win the Romanian championship in 1949 . After that, his career had peaked and Spielmann was rarely used in the 1950 season , so that he moved to Divizia B to local rival Metalul Oradea and ended his career there in 1953.
National team
Spielmann played eleven games for the Romanian national soccer team and scored four goals. He made his debut on October 20, 1939 against Hungary. After two international matches, he took on Hungarian citizenship as a result of the Second Vienna Arbitration Award and between 1940 and 1943 he played seven games for the Hungarian national soccer team . After the war he played again for Romania.
Career as a coach
After the end of his active career, Spielmann looked after his former club Metalul Oradea in Divizia B from 1954 to 1955 .
