Francisco Amicarelli

Francisco Amicarelli (born December 2, 1905 in Chieti ; † October 26, 1981 ) was an Argentine pianist and music teacher of Italian origin.

Live and act

Amicarelli was a student of Vincenzo Scaramuzza from the age of ten . At the age of eighteen he went on a concert tour through Italy. In Argentina he won several piano competitions and became one of the most important concert pianists in his country. He has also appeared in several films as a pianist. With José María and Juan José Castro , Manuel Almirall and Bruno Bandini he founded the Sociedad del Cuarteto in 1926 .

Amicarelli later devoted himself mainly to teaching as an employee of Scaramuzza and with Luis la Via as one of the founding members of the music school at the Universidad de Cuyo . In addition to Martha Argerich , his students included Juan María Castro , Lucio Demare , Juan Dargenton , Jorge Urgartamendia , Andrea Katz , Roberto Castro , Jorge Uliarte , Carlos Cobeñas , Pedro Ignacio Calderón , and Martha Noguera .
