Francisco Blake Mora
José Francisco Blake Mora (born May 22, 1966 in Tijuana , † November 11, 2011 in Chalco de Díaz Covarrubias , Estado de México ) was a Mexican politician of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) and from 2010 until his death Minister of the Interior of his country.
Life
Career
Francisco Blake Mora studied law at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California . From 1995 to 1998 he was elected alderman for the city of Tijuana , from 2000 to 2003 federal deputy for the federal district V election committee in Baja California and from 2004 to 2007 a member of the Congress in Baja California.
Interior minister
On November 1, 2007, he was appointed Secretary General of the Government of Baja California and since July 14, 2010 he was Mexican Interior Minister in the cabinet of Felipe Calderón . He was considered a hardliner in Mexico's drug war .
Blake Mora personally commanded the military and police operations in the states of Veracruz , Guerrero and Michoacán .
death
On November 11, 2011, at around 8:55 a.m., Blake died in a helicopter crash . With him seven other people were killed in the Aérospatiale AS 332 helicopter . The Mexican State Secretary for Law and Human Rights, Felipe Zamora , is said to have been among them.
Information Minister Dionisio Rérez Jácomo ruled out an assassination attempt. According to him, it is likely that the helicopter went off course because of the fog and collided with a hill. He didn't have a flight recorder on board. Jácomo announced that it would involve experts from the United States and France in the investigation.
Blake Mora was the third Mexican Home Secretary to be killed in a crash in six years. On 21 September 2005 died Ramón Martín Huerta in a helicopter crash on 4 November 2008, the crashed Learjet from Juan Camilo Mouriño in Mexico City from. Blake Mora's last message on Twitter was about the death of his predecessor.
