Franciszek Pieczka (born January 18, 1928 in Godów, Upper Silesia , Poland ) is a Polish actor . He is one of the most famous actors in the country.

Life

Pieczka first studied at the Politechnika Gliwicka, then he graduated from the Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Teatralna in Warsaw in 1954 . He made his debut in a theater in Jelenia Góra . He was particularly well known for the role of Gustlik in the television series Four Tank Soldiers and a Dog , in which he played from 1966 to 1971. In 1970 he moved to Warsaw, where he was hired at Teatr Powszechny.

Pieczka won two awards from the Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych for the leading roles in the films The Scar (1976) and Jancio Wodnik (1993). In 1984 he received the Actor Award for Roland Graef's tragic comedy Fariaho at the 3rd GDR National Feature Film Festival .

In 2001 he was awarded the Silesian Culture Prize of Lower Saxony .
