Career

societies

As a junior, Etoundi played in Yaoundé for the Dragons Club and Ouragan FC . In September 2009 he signed his first professional contract with the Swiss Super League club Neuchâtel Xamax and made his debut on February 14, 2010 in the 1: 3 defeat against FC Basel . He scored his first goal in a 3-3 draw against FC Zurich on May 16, 2010. At Xamax, however, he could not prevail and only had four league appearances. As a result, Etoundi was loaned to the Challenge league club FC Biel-Bienne , for whom he completed 30 competitive appearances in the 2010/11 season and scored 13 goals. At the end of the season he moved to league competitor FC St. Gallen with whom he rose to the Super League in 2012.

In the summer of 2013 Etoundi signed with Super League club FC Zurich , which he 2014 the Swiss Cup won. In the summer of 2015, a transfer to SC Bastia failed at the last second.

For the 2016/17 season he was signed by the Turkish first division club Kasımpaşa Istanbul .

National team

For the Africa Cup qualifier against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on September 6, 2014, Etoundi was called up for the first time by coach Volker Finke in the Cameroonian national team , but remained without a commitment. On November 15, 2014, he made his international debut in the second leg against the DR Congo. He also scored the first goal for the national team in a friendly against the DR Congo on January 7, 2015.

Play style

The massive striker makes up for his technical deficits with his speed and headball strength. He is a fan favorite because of his self-sacrificing style of play.
