Franco Indovina
Franco Indovina (* 1932 in Palermo , † May 4, 1972 in Cinisi ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .
Life
Indovina took an early interest in the theater and worked under Giorgio Strehler and Luchino Visconti . From 1960 he was assistant director to Michelangelo Antonioni a . a. and made his debut in 1964 directing an episode of I tre volti . While filming in 1964 he met the divorced wife of the Shah of Persia Princess Soraya , with whom he was in a relationship until his death.
The first feature film followed in 1965, the comedy Ménage all'italiana with Ugo Tognazzi and a number of popular actresses. He later made a kind of intellectual version of Brancaleone with Trenel mille , which was shown in a longer version on television. His career ended with the married drama Giuochi particolari .
Indovina died in the plane crash of Alitalia flight 112 in his homeland of Sicily.
