Frank-Immo Zichner

Frank-Immo Zichner (born October 25, 1962 in Görlitz ) is a German pianist .

Life

Zichner studied in Dieter Zechlin's master class at the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin . His later sponsor was Menahem Pressler . Frank-Immo Zichner is a guest at various international festivals, including the Berliner Festwochen , the Berlin Biennale , in Banff (Canada), the Bad Kissinger Musiksommer and the Moscow Autumn. Concerts have taken him as a pianist and chamber musician to over 40 countries in Europe, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, Central and South America and Japan. From 2000 to 2013 Zichner played in the Aperto Piano Quartet together with Gernot Süßmuth (violin), Stefan Fehlandt (viola) and Hans-Jakob Eschenburg (cello). Frank Reinecke (violin), Stefan Fehlandt (viola) and Jonathan Weigle (violoncello) have been playing with Zichner in the Aperto Piano Quartet since 2017.

Frank-Immo Zichner taught at the Liszt School of Music Weimar , the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig and the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. He is visiting professor at the School of Music in Bloomington (USA).

Since 2013 he has been a lecturer in chamber music at the Berlin University of the Arts . In the same year he founded the Chamber Music Center of the Berlin University of the Arts.

Frank-Immo Zichner has been visiting professor for chamber music at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw since 2019 .
