Frank Badur

Frank Badur (born April 9, 1944 in Oranienburg ) is a German painter and draftsman of color field painting and concrete art .

Life

Badur completed a painting degree in Berlin from 1963 to 1969 . In 1973 he moved into a studio in Finland and has lived there and in Berlin since then. In 1975 he and colleagues founded the Systhema group . In 1982, thanks to a grant from the Hand-Hollow Foundation of George Rickey, Badur spent some time in America, where he continued his studies. From 1985 to 2009 he was professor of painting at the Berlin University of the Arts .

His paintings and drawings in large and small formats show areas of color, stripes and lines that interact with the space and the viewer.

Frank Badur has been a member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts since 1992 . As a member of the German Association of Artists , he took part in a total of twelve annual DKB exhibitions between 1977 and 1994.
