Frank Blasch

Frank Blasch is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been the mayor of Bad Soden am Taunus since March 2018 .

education and profession

Blasch attended the Bischof Neumann School in Königstein im Taunus and graduated from high school there . After completing his community service , he began to study economics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1997 . In 2002 he completed his studies with a degree in economics. He then completed a doctoral degree with Alfons J. Weichenrieder at the Goethe University . In December 2007, a doctorate Blasch with the thesis "tax reforms and business decisions" to Dr. rer. pole.

In November 2008 he became a consultant for economic policy in the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport and Regional Development . In August 2011 he moved to the Hessian State Chancellery , where he initially worked as a speaker and later as head of department for the areas of economy, energy, transport, the environment, agriculture and consumer protection.

Political career

In 2001 Blasch was first elected to the city council of Bad Soden am Taunus. In the following elections to the city council, he was confirmed in office. Since May 4, 2007 he was also chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there. Furthermore, he was elected to the district council of the Main-Taunus-Kreis in 2011 . There he has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since September 2015.

On January 21, 2018, he ran for the office of mayor of Bad Soden am Taunus. The mayoral election had become necessary because the previous mayor Norbert Altenkamp had won the direct mandate for the Main-Taunus constituency in the 2017 federal election . Blasch won with 65.8% of the votes cast. He took office on March 1, 2018. At the same time, he resigned from the city council.
