The constituency Main-Taunus (constituency 181) is a Bundestag constituency in Hesse . The constituency includes the Main-Taunus district and the cities and communities of Königstein im Taunus , Kronberg im Taunus and Steinbach (Taunus) from the Hochtaunus district . The constituency was newly established in this form for the 2002 Bundestag election and is considered a CDU stronghold.

Election 2017

The 2017 Bundestag election will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2017. In Hessen , 20 parties applied with their state list. The Alliance of German Democrats withdrew their application. The violet one was rejected by the state election committee because the required two thousand signatures for support were not presented. Thus 18 parties apply with their state lists in Hesse. A total of 353 applicants are running on the state lists, less than a third (114) of them women.

The Main-Taunus constituency was newly established for the 2002 federal election. Before that, the area of ​​today's constituency was from 1949 to 1961 part of the federal constituency of Groß-Gerau .
