The constituency Rheingau-Taunus - Limburg (constituency 178) is a federal constituency in Hesse . The constituency includes the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis and the cities and communities Bad Camberg , Brechen , Dornburg , Elbtal , Elz , Hadamar , Hünstelden , Limburg , Selters (Taunus) and Waldbrunn (Westerwald) from the Limburg-Weilburg district (former Limburg district ). The constituency is considered the stronghold of the CDU , which has won direct mandate in all federal elections so far.

Election 2017

The  2017 federal election took place on Sunday, September 24, 2017. In Hesse , 20 parties had applied with their state list. The Alliance of German Democrats withdrew their application. The violet had been rejected by the state electoral committee because the required two thousand signatures in support had not been presented. Thus 18 parties applied with their state lists in Hesse. A total of 353 applicants ran on the state lists, not quite a third (114) of them women.
