Frank Elser (born  October 5, 1958 in Stuttgart ) is a former German soccer player and coach.

Career

Elser learned to play football at Sportvg Feuerbach . In 1972 he moved to the youth team at VfB Stuttgart , for whom he played in the club's amateur team after his junior years. With the amateurs, Elser was able to move up to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 1979 , where they won the triple from the Oberliga championship 1980 , WFV Cup 1979/80 and - since the VfB amateurs could not advance to the 2nd Bundesliga , the runner-up rose VfB Eppingen up and the VfB talents played for the German amateur championship - after a 2-1 final victory on June 20, 1980 against FC Augsburg, the amateur team won in 1980 .

The VfB rewarded the talents Frank Elser, Ralf Obermüller and İlyas Tüfekçi with the inclusion in the licensed team for the round 1980/81. He played his first Bundesliga game on November 15, 1980, when he came on as a substitute for Walter Kelsch in the 87th minute in the Swabians' 3-2 home win against Hamburger SV on matchday 14 . In the further course of the season he was only used in the round of 16 of the UEFA Cup against 1. FC Köln and in the second half against Eintracht Frankfurt . At the end of the season he left VfB Stuttgart and joined Alemannia Aachen , for which he played 52 second division games over the next two years . He came to the Stuttgarter Kickers in 1985 via SSV Ulm 1846 . In the 1986/87 season he reached the final of the DFB Cup with the Kickers and lost to Hamburger SV 1: 3. A year later, the club rose to the Bundesliga . After the immediate relegation, Frank Elser ended his career after the 1988/89 season.

After his active career, he coached various lower-class clubs. He is the managing director of the KidsforChampion football school by profession.
