The Festa Verlag is a German publisher of fantastic literature , horror , psychological thriller , contemporary fantasy and dark fantasy. Festa initially published primarily Anglo-American authors, and for some years now exclusively.

The publishing house was founded in Almersbach in April 2001 by Frank Festa, who previously worked for the small publishing house Edition Metzengerstein , among others . The program includes books in the horror , vampire and thriller genres . Festa Verlag owns the exclusive rights to the Necroscope series by English author Brian Lumley in Germany, has published a six-volume edition of HP Lovecraft's Collected Works in complete new translations since 2005 and has published the Lovecraft biography of Lyon Sprague de Camp .

The Festa Verlag worked together since 2002 with LPL Records. This label converts the publisher's books into audio books . In 2003, the distribution of these audio books was transferred to Bastei Lübbe .

Also in 2003 the publishing house relocated to Leipzig and in 2004 started a horror paperback series in which Graham Masterton , Brian Lumley , Richard Laymon and F. Paul Wilson, among others , are published. In 2012 the Festa Crime series was added (including Dan Simmons ). The Festa Extrem series publishes books without an ISBN, which the German book trade has boycotted because of their content and which are only available directly from the publisher.

In 2010 Frank Festa was awarded the Vincent Prize for his publishing work .
