Frank Hudson (born July 18, 1957 in Berlin ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

Frank Hudson grew up in Mount Holly, New Jersey , and played from 1975 to 1979 for the high school team of Glassboro State College (later renamed Rowan University) in the NAIA . He made a name for himself there as a strong offensive player: In the 1976/77 season Hudson scored an average of 18.0 points and was able to increase the value in the following two playing years: in 1977/78 he achieved an average of 18.2 points and in 1978 / 79 of 20.2.

Until 1988, only one foreigner per team was allowed in the German basketball league , so the German teams were constantly looking for US players with German roots. Hudson was a German citizen and moved to the basketball league in 1979. Hudson spent his most successful years from 1982 to 1985 at BSC Saturn Cologne , with whom he took second place twice and third place in the Bundesliga. In 1983 he won the cup competition with the Cologne team .

From 1980 to 1984 Hudson also played in the German national team . At the European basketball championship in 1983 , Hudson finished eighth with the German selection. Hudson scored 9.7 points per encounter during the European Championship.
