Frank Kinkel (born December 20, 1973 in Göppingen ) is a former German football player who was temporarily active as a player- coach at one of his last clubs, SpVgg Au / Iller .

career

In 1997 Kinkel came from SC Geislingen to the then regional league team SSV Ulm 1846 , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1998 . The left foot came in his first professional season on 28 appearances, his only professional goal he succeeded on November 1, 1998 in the 3: 3 draw against SC Fortuna Köln to the interim 2: 2 equalization.

After the promotion to the Bundesliga was surprisingly successful, Kinkel was deployed eleven times in the upper house. After the immediate relegation, he moved to the then second division club 1. FSV Mainz 05 . After only one season in which he was on the pitch eight times, he moved on to league rivals SV Babelsberg 03 . After relegation from the second division, he returned to SSV Ulm, which had been promoted to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg after the club's bankruptcy and the associated withdrawal of the 1st team with the former 2nd team .

Kinkel played here for a year before he went to the national division FC Donzdorf . In 2004 he moved to SpVgg Au / Iller in the Württemberg Association , where he also worked for one season (2005/2006) as a player- coach with Markus Pleuler , with whom he already played at SSV Ulm. In 2008, Kinkel rose again with his Auern in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. In August 2009 he moved from Au, which had to leave the league again after only a one-year stint, to 1. FC Normannia Gmünd . There he still had the opportunity to play in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. In the meantime, Kinkel has ended his active football career.

During his involvement with SpVgg Au / Iller, Kinkel was also head of the club's football department.
