Frank Mackerodt (born May 3, 1963 in Hamburg ) is a former German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Frank Mackerodt started volleyball in 1972 at SC Langenhorn . At the age of sixteen he moved to the Bundesliga club Hamburger SV , where he was part of the Stammsechs after just one year. In the following ten years, HSV developed into the leading team in German men's volleyball. At the side of Christian Voss , Hauke ​​Braack , Leif Andersson and Michael Dornheim , Frank Mackerodt was four times German champion and four times DVV cup winner . As a defense specialist, he regularly appeared on top positions in German volleyball rankings. Frank Mackerodt was also 111 times German national player .

Career beach volleyball / management

In beach volleyball , Frank Mackerodt was one of the pioneers in Germany. With his partner Hauke ​​Braack he became German runner-up in 1993 in the sand. He founded the MNP agency in 1993 and organized the German Masters series in beach volleyball until 2003. In October 2003, MNP had to file for bankruptcy. Mackerodt founded the Act Agency in 2004 and organized the Hamburg Marathon and the Surf World Cup. From 2001 to 2009 he was also a member of the supervisory board of Hamburger SV . In 2011 he founded his own personal marketing agency. From 2013 to 2019 he was again the organizer of the German Beach Tour and the German championships. In November 2015, Mackerodt succeeded in bringing a Grand Slam of the FIVB World Tour to Hamburg for the first time in June 2016 . In summer 2019 he was one of the organizers of the World Cup in Hamburg .

Private

Frank Mackerodt is divorced and has a son Marcelle and a daughter Fabienne. In 2009 he had to be put into an artificial coma and operated on after suffering from severe blood poisoning and peritonitis.
