Hauke Braack (born August 3, 1963 in Husum ) is a former German indoor and beach volleyball player . He is volleyball player of the year 1988.
Career indoor volleyball
Hauke Braack began playing volleyball in his North Frisian home at TSV Husum . At the age of nineteen he moved to the Bundesliga club Hamburger SV , where he immediately belonged to the Stammsechs. In the following years, HSV was the leading team in German men's volleyball. At the side of Christian Voss , Frank Mackerodt , Leif Andersson and Michael Dornheim , Hauke Braack was four times German champion and four times DVV cup winner . As a universal player, he appeared regularly on top positions in the rankings of German volleyball . Hauke Braack was also a dozen German national players . In 1988 he was voted volleyball player of the year .
Career beach volleyball
In beach volleyball was Hauke Braack one of the pioneers in Germany. With his partner Frank Mackerodt , he became German runner- up at the German championships in 1993.
Private
Hauke Braack's daughter Nina also plays volleyball, currently at VT Hamburg in the second division . His son Niklas died in 2014 as a result of a weakness in his connective tissue.
