Francis Joseph "Frank" Masley (born June 30, 1960 in Wilmington , Delaware ; † September 10, 2016 ) was an American luge athlete .

Masley occurred in single-seater and two-seater with Ray Bateman, Jr. at. Together they took part in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . There they took 18th place. Four years later, at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , Masley was selected as the flag bearer for the opening ceremony. In the subsequent single-seater competition he reached 14th place, in doubles with Bateman he was 13th. His third Winter Olympics, he experienced in 1988 in Calgary . Masley has also won the American doubles championship three times in his career: in 1980, 1983 and 1984.

Masley attended Delaware Tech + ACY Community College , where he graduated in 1981 with a degree in civil engineering . He later started his own company and designed the launch pad for the luge track in Muskegon , Michigan .
