Frank Nägele (born May 15, 1964 in Krumbach (Swabia) ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Chancellery since April 17, 2018 .

Life

Nägele graduated from high school in Leutkirch in 1984 and then did community service. From 1986 to 1992 he studied at the University of Konstanz and graduated with a degree in administrative science . At the Humboldt University in Berlin , he was then a research associate in the Institute for Political Science until 1996. In 1996 he received his doctorate with the dissertation regional economic policy in the cooperative federal state .

From 1996 to 1998 he was the financial advisor in the state representation for the state of Brandenburg . In 1998 he moved to the Federal Chancellery as head of department and coordinated the affairs of the new federal states . In 2005 he also took over responsibility for new control instruments in public administration and in the same year became deputy head of the “Financial Policy” group. From 2010 to June 2012 he was commercial director of the Berlin Palace - Humboldtforum Foundation .

Nägele is married and has two children.

Nägele has been a member of the SPD since 1982. In 2004 he ran for the office of Lord Mayor of Konstanz , but lost to Horst Frank , who was re-elected. For the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag he was coordinator for transport, building and urban development policy from 2007 to 2009.

From June 2012 to June 2017 he was State Secretary and Head of Office in the Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Technology of the State of Schleswig-Holstein. From January 2017 to April 2018 he was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Schleswig-Holstein . From June 2017 to November 2017 he was State Secretary and Head of Office in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor and Transport.

Since April 17, 2018, Nägele has been State Secretary of the Senate Müller II for administrative and infrastructure modernization in the Senate Chancellery in Berlin.
