Frank Werner (born January 29, 1957 in Elsterwerda ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 2009 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament .

education and profession

Frank Werner did vocational training with a high school diploma and then did basic military service. He then completed a distance learning course in cultural studies at the college for club leaders in Meißen - Siebeneichen . Until 1990 he was an employee in the district cabinet for cultural work in the Bad Liebenwerda district . After the fall of the Wall he became head of the cultural office of the Bad Liebenwerda district administration in 1990.

Frank Werner is single and Protestant.

Frank Werner joined the CDU block party in 1986 . In the first free local elections in 1990, he became a member of the Bad Liebenwerda district council. He exercised this mandate (or that in the district council of the Elbe-Elster district ) until the local elections in 2008 and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1993 to 2008 he was also a member of the Plessa municipal council . Since 2008 he has been a city councilor in Bad Liebenwerda. Until 2009 he was a member of the state executive committee of the local political association (KPV) of the CDU.

From the first state election in 1990, Frank Werner was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament until 2009. Most recently, he was elected to the state parliament in 2004 through a direct mandate in the Elbe-Elster II constituency . In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for home affairs and the legal committee from the first electoral term. In the second electoral term and from April 14, 2005, he was deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Control Commission. From the third electoral term he was a member of the Committee for Science, Research and Culture. In the third electoral term he was chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee and in the fourth electoral term a member of the electoral review committee. In 2009 Werner was a member of the 13th Federal Assembly .

Frank Werner is a member of the board of trustees of the Protestant grammar school Doberlug-Kirchhain , sponsored by the Diakonisches Werk e. V., chairman of the legal advisory board at the Brandenburgischer Chorverband e. V. (BCV), chairman of the Bad Liebenwerda singers' group and member of the prison advisory board of the Cottbus prison.
