Siebeneichen is a district of Meißen in the district of Meißen , Saxony . The district lies in the south of the city and is known for the Siebeneichen Castle above the Elbe . Neighboring towns are Meißen- Lercha , Meißen- Neudörfchen , Bockwen ( Klipphausen ) and, on the other side of the Elbe, Meißen- Nieder- and Oberspaar . The place name was first mentioned in 1394 as the name of an outwork of the monastery of the Holy Cross . Until December 31, 1972 the village belonged to Bockwen and was then reclassified to Meißen.
