The Fischergasse is one of the historic suburbs of Meissen in the Saxon district of Meissen . The Fischergasse district with the street of the same name is located in the northern center of the city, immediately northwest of the Albrechtsburg . It is located on the Elbe at the western bridgehead of the New Elbe Bridge and at the entrance to the Schottenberg tunnel . Neighboring towns are Meißen- Klostergasse , Meißen- Niedermeisa , the Meißen old town and Meißen- Niederfähre on the other side of the Elbe. Fischergasse was first mentioned in 1428. The rural community of Fischergasse formed in the 19th century also included the neighboring suburb of Klostergasse. Both were incorporated into Meisatal on April 1, 1921, and came to Meissen seven years later.
