Obermeisa is one of the historic suburbs of Meißen in the district of Meißen , Saxony . The district is in the west of the city in the upper Meisatal along Jahnastraße. Neighboring towns are Niedermeisa and the monastery of the Holy Cross . The village was first mentioned in 1428. In 1921 it became part of the new municipality of Meisatal and came with this seven years later to Meissen. In the 1930s, the Kynastiedlung was built in the southwest of Obermeisa .
