Frankeshoven is the smallest district of the city of Elsdorf in the Rhineland . Elsdorf is a town in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Frankeshoven lies between Oberembt and Niederembt . The Finkelbach flows on the northern edge of the town. Landesstraße 213 runs past the southern edge .
history
Frankeshoven has always been divided into two parts by Dorfstrasse. The western part used to belong to the Oberembt court, Amt Kaster , Duchy of Jülich; the eastern one to the Verkeshoven court, Bergheim office , Duchy of Jülich .
Up until the 18th century, Frankeshoven Castle, the ancestral seat of the Lords of Frankeshoven, was near the village.
