Giesendorf is a district of the city of Elsdorf in the Rhineland . Elsdorf is a town in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Giesendorf is located south of Elsdorf. The buildings of Giesendorf and Berrendorf-Wüllenrath merge. The district road 33 leads completely through the place. The K 33 is also the main road, which bears the name Etzweilerstraße, which formerly led to Etzweiler . This place had to give way to the Hambach opencast mine .

The place is mentioned several times in 1320 in connection with the knight-born Giesendorf. You were Ministeriale of St. Pantaleon Abbey in Cologne .

Until the reorganization in 1975, Giesendorf was the northernmost place in the municipality of Heppendorf .

The Reuschenberger Hof was first mentioned in 1448, a chapel in Giesendorf is mentioned in 1750. It is not known where this chapel was located. In 1984 a chapel dedicated to Saint Catherine was built in Giesendorf, which was donated by the sisters Maria and Katharina Mülfahrt.
