František Kratochvíl

František Kratochvíl (born July 31, 1858 or July 28, 1857 in Vienna , † January 20, 1932 in Prague ) was a Czech politician and master locksmith. He was a member of the Austrian House of Representatives and a member of the Bohemian Landtag .

Life

Kratochvíl attended elementary school and then moved to a secondary school, where he completed two classes. After attending secondary school, Kratochvíl continued his education at the State Commercial School in Prague. He subsequently worked as a master locksmith in Žižkov near Prague, which was incorporated into Prague in 1922. Kratochvíl was involved in the political arena as a member of the Žižkov City Council and was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Prague. Furthermore, he was a member of the Trade Promotion Advisory Board in the Ministry of Commerce and the committee of the National Association of the Bohemian Trade Cooperative in Prague. Kratochvíl stood in the state elections in 1901 in the district of Rychnov and was subsequently a member of the Bohemian state parliament until 1908. In 1901 he stood for the Young Czechs in the Reichsrat election, where he stood in the constituency of the general electoral class for the Pisek, Mirovic, Wodnan etc. region and won the election there. He was sworn in in January 1901 and was able to hold his mandate in various constituencies until the end of the Reichsrat in 1918. In the Reichsrat election in 1907 he won the election in the electoral district of Bohemia 20 in the runoff against a candidate from the Czech Social Democrats , in 1911 he was able to prevail in the election district of Bohemia 29 in the runoff election, also against a candidate from the Social Democrats. In the House of Representatives, he was a member of the trade committee and other committees for many years. Kratochvíl died in Prague in 1932.
