Frantz Kruger (born May 22, 1975 in Kempton Park , Gauteng ) is a Finnish discus thrower of South African origin.

The 1994 junior world champion became the African champion in 1998 and won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur . A year later he won the Pan-African Games and the Universiade .

In 2000 he achieved his greatest success to date by winning the bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Until 2005 he achieved numerous top placements at major international events. He finished eighth at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton and sixth at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis and the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he came in fifth place; in the same year he was again African champion.

On May 26, 2002, he set the current African record in Salon-de-Provence with 70.32 meters, which is also his personal best.

In 2007 he became a Finnish citizen and in the same year became the holder of the Finnish record with 69.97 m. With an annual best in 2008 of 65.39 meters, he qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing , where he finished eleventh with a width of 61.98 meters.

With a height of 2.03 meters, he has a competition weight of 118 kg. He is married to the former Finnish long and triple jumper Heli Koivula .
