Heli Koivula Kruger

Heli Koivula Kruger (born Heli Maarit Koivula ; born June 27, 1975 in Kauhajoki ) is a former Finnish long and triple jumper .

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and at the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she was eliminated in the long jump and triple jump in qualification. Another out in the triple jump of the 1999 World Championships in Seville was followed by a fifth place in the same discipline at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton.

She celebrated her greatest success the following year at the European Athletics Championships in Munich by winning the silver medal.

In the triple jump of the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis, she did not get beyond the preliminary round, as well as in the long and triple jump of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

She was Finnish champion in the long jump five times (1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2004) and seven times in the triple jump (1996, 1998, 2000-2004). In the hall she won the national title four times in the long jump (1994-1996, 2004) and triple jump (1996-1998, 2004).

Heli Koivula Kruger has been married to South African discus thrower Frantz Kruger since 2003 . In 2002 she was voted Finnish Sportswoman of the Year .
