Franz-Emil Keller

Franz-Emil Keller (born July 9, 1843 in the Ottewig district of today's municipality of Zschaitz-Ottewig ; † April 22, 1925 ) was an organ builder in Ostrau .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship as a carpenter with his father, Franz Emil Keller learned organ building from Friedrich Ladegast around 1865 . In 1867, Franz Emil Keller set up a workshop in Ottewig, which he ran there until 1878. Until 1903 he worked as an organ builder from Ostrau. After his death he was buried in a crypt in the cemetery in Ostrau.

Keller built one and two manual village organs in the romantic style. His sphere of activity was limited to Saxony. In addition to building new organs, he also carried out repairs and modifications.
