Franz Adams the Younger
Philipp Joseph Franz Adolf Adams (born November 23, 1828 in Koblenz , † September 11, 1891 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer.

Franz Adams was the son of Franz Peter Adams and brother of Clemens Joseph Adams . He studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität and became a member in 1847, later an honorary member of the Corps Teutonia Bonn. For 27 years, from 1864 until his death, he sat on the city council of Koblenz; In 1877 he also became an alderman . Since December 7th, 1878 he represented his city in the "OB-Fraktion" of the Prussian manor house. In 1885 he was elected to the provincial parliament of the Rhine Province , which elected him deputy chairman. In 1882 Adams was admitted to the bar, in 1888 as a go. Judicial Council characterizes . In 1863 he founded the Catholic Reading Association in Koblenz, of which he was first chairman until 1887. The new club building was inaugurated on January 28, 1866 and named after Joseph Görres . In Otto von Bismarck's Kulturkampf , the reading club was banned in 1874 and the Görreshaus was closed. Today it is used by the Rheinische Philharmonie State Orchestra . In 1864 Adams was deputy president of the German Catholic Assembly in Würzburg. As a Prussian Catholic he was Vice President of the Catholic Days in 1858, 1859, 1864 and 1865 . After the First Vatican Council he opposed the dogma of infallibility . A declaration made in Königswinter received 1,359 corresponding signatures. An Old Catholic parish was formed in Koblenz, but Adams stayed away.
