Franz Allerkamp was a German architect of postwar modernism .

Allerkamp was born into a long-established family in Brakel ; After studying at the Technical University of Hanover , he founded an architecture office there around 1930. After the Second World War he first worked in Paderborn , and from 1950 the office was in Essen .

The focus of his work was on school buildings, which he designed with the collaboration of his son Rolf Allerkamp since the early 1960s. The office has been run by the third generation since 1998.
