Franz Drinkwelder

Franz Drinkwelder (born November 1, 1796 in Gaschurn , † May 14, 1880 in Krems an der Donau ) was a physician and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Originally from a farming family Drinkwelder studied from 1816 to 1824 philosophy and medicine at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Vienna , where he in 1824 to Dr. med. received his doctorate. He then worked as a surgeon and obstetrician in Vienna before moving to Melk in 1827 as a doctor . In 1829 he became a district doctor in Ried im Innkreis and was based in Krems from 1830, where he was also a court doctor from 1863 until his retirement in 1871.

In 1856 Drinkwelder founded a children's institution in Krems.

From May 18 to October 19, 1848 he represented the constituency of Krems in the Frankfurt National Assembly, where he belonged to the casino faction . From 1850 to 1871 he was a member of the community committee in Krems.
