Franz E. Kneissl
Franz Eberhard Kneissl (born February 9, 1945 in Judenburg ; † September 29, 2011 in Krumpendorf am Wörthersee ) was an Austrian architect , artist and writer .
Life
Franz E. Kneissl grew up in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee and attended HTL Villach . He studied architecture from 1966 to 1970 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in the master class of Ernst Anton Plischke .
In 1973 he founded the architectural office IGIRIEN with Werner W. Appelt and Elsa Prochazka in Vienna , and from 1985 IGIRIEN Franz E. Kneissl.
From 2008 to 2011 he lived and worked in Krumpendorf am Wörthersee .
Awards
- 1972/1973 with Elsa Prochazka Josef Frank Prize of the Society for Architecture (scholarship)
- 1997 City of Vienna Prize for Architecture
