Franz Eiblhuber

Franz Eiblhuber (born December 7, 1891 in Pötting , Upper Austria ; † May 4, 1950 in Linz ) was a priest, educator and politician.

Life

Eiblhuber studied theology and was ordained a priest in 1914. From 1915 he was a cooperator in Natternbach and Leonding , then he studied geography and history at the University of Innsbruck from 1917 to 1921 and then taught at the Bischöfliches Gymnasium Petrinum in Linz. In 1931 he became director of the grammar school and Regens and remained so - with the exception of the years between 1938 and 1946 - until his death. From 1939 to 1946 Eiblhuber was the parish priest in Grieskirchen .

Since 1918 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Austria Innsbruck .

politics

Between 1934 and 1938 Eiblhuber was a member of the state parliament (representative of the cultural communities) and distinguished himself as a brilliant speaker. He has received many awards for his services: clergyman councilor (1931), consistorial councilor , student councilor (1934), papal house prelate (1950), honorary citizen of Pötting.
