Franz Elmiger
Franz Elmiger (born September 17, 1882 in Ermensee , † September 27, 1934 in Lucerne ) was a Swiss animal and landscape painter and restorer .
Life
Franz Elmiger attended the teachers' college in Hitzkirch from 1897 to 1899 and the arts and crafts schools in Lucerne and Zurich from 1899 to 1903 . From October 28, 1905, he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Heinrich Zügel and Angelo Jank .
In 1907 and 1918 he received art grants from the Swiss Confederation . From 1903 to 1923 he took part in all rotating exhibitions of the Swiss Art Association and from 1908 to 1925 in all eight national art exhibitions. From 1908 to 1934 he exhibited his works at group exhibitions in Munich, Brussels, Zurich, Basel and Lucerne.
From 1920 to 1934 he worked on the restoration work in the Adligenswil chapel , the Jesuit church in Lucerne and on paintings by the Lucerne Art Society.
