Franz Faber (lawyer)

Franz Faber (born December 1, 1919 in Neustadt bei Coburg ; † August 19, 2017 in Bamberg ) was a German lawyer and president of the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .

biography

After military service and captivity, Franz Faber studied law at the University of Erlangen . In 1954, Faber joined the Bavarian judicial service as a court assessor at the Lichtenfels and Kronach district courts . In 1956 he became a district court advisor at the district court of Coburg and in 1963 a district judge at the district court of Coburg , where he was finally appointed district court director in 1966.

Faber finally moved from the Coburg Regional Court to the Bamberg Higher Regional Court . On June 16, 1972 he was first appointed Vice President and on March 1, 1978 President of the Higher Regional Court. He held this position until his retirement in 1984.

Franz Faber was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit for his services .
