Franz Gerauer (politician, 1900)

Franz Gerauer (born October 6, 1900 in Hartham , district of Neuhaus am Inn ; † February 2, 1987 in Rotthalmünster ) was a German farmer, agricultural functionary and mayor (CSU).

Life

Gerauer was born to Franz Gerauer, a member of the Reichstag, and attended elementary school in Mittich and the agricultural school in Pfarrkirchen . From 1922 he ran his parents' "Goderhof" in Hartham, which he took over in 1935 and passed on to his son in 1969.

Between 1948 and 1970 Gerauer was mayor of Mittich, from 1948 also a district councilor and member of the district committee and from May 1, 1962 to December 31, 1973 a member of the Bavarian Senate.

Gerauer was chairman of the Breeding Association for Fleckvieh in Lower Bavaria, the Horse Breeding Association of Lower Bavaria-Upper Palatinate, the Animal Breeding Committee of the Bavarian Farmers 'Association (BBV), the State Committee of the Bavarian Animal Disease Fund, the Cattle Health Service in Bavaria, from 1959 to 1976 of the German Animal Breeders ' Association from 1962 to 1976 1969 President and from 1969 Honorary President of the BBV District Association of Lower Bavaria; also deputy chairman of the Catholic Action of the Diocese of Passau .

For his various voluntary services, Gerauer received the Max Eyth Medal in Gold from the German Agricultural Society (DLG), the Golden Badge of Honor from the Raiffeisen Association , Prof. Dr. Dürrwaechter Memorial Prize of the State Association of Bavarian Cattle Breeders (LBR) and the Hermann von Nathusius Medal in gold in 1976 for many years of work in the committee of the German Society for Zuchtungskunde (DGfZ).
