Franz Hadamowsky
Franz Hadamowsky (born January 31, 1900 in Rappoltenkirchen near Tulln, Lower Austria ; † January 9, 1995 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer and theater scholar .
Life
Hadamowsky was a librarian, theater historian and writer.
- 1922–33: Librarian
- 1934–38: Director of the Vienna People's Education Association
- 1948–66: Employee at the Austrian National Library , from 1954 as director of the theater collection. He has presented numerous pioneering publications on Viennese theater history. He was editor of the yearbook of the Society for Vienna Theater Research and curated exhibitions on Richard Strauss , Ferdinand Raimund , Hugo von Hofmannsthal , the Vienna Opera, etc.
