Franz Isaak of Froideville

Franz Isaak Monod von Froideville (born May 12, 1720 in Ballens, Canton Bern (baptized in Biere), † March 30, 1794 in Paddein) was a Prussian major general , inspector of the Second Army and assessor in the fifth department of the Higher War College .

Life

origin

His parents came from the Swiss canton of Bern . His father was Gabriel Monod von Froideville the Lord of Ballens and Yens, his mother was Susanne von Crousaz . His brother Gabriel Monod von Froideville was also a Prussian major general.

Career

He rose to the rank of colonel in the Prussian Dragoon Regiment No. 6 . He received this rank on May 22nd, 1775. On November 30th, 1779 he became inspector (Intendant) of the army drawn together for the upcoming war .

In January 1787 Friedrich Wilhelm II appointed him Major General of the Cavalry and on June 25, 1787 as Assessor in the Oberkriegskollegium . There he was in the department no. 5 until his illness leave in the same year for the food responsible.

He was married to Louise Marianne De Fillietaz (born November 14, 1741, † 1811). The couple had the following children:

According to Priesdorff (lit.) he was married to Henriette Luise von Götzen, with whom he had the son Franz Benjamin (born May 23, 1772 in Laukischken ; † February 6, 1832 in Herford ).
