Franz Landolt

Franz Landolt (born December 25, 1901 in Näfels , † July 8, 1965 ibid) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Landolt worked as a silk fabric printer. From 1935 he was a member of the Näfels municipal council . From 1929 to 1942 in the district administrator of the Canton of Glarus . In 1941/42 he was also a criminal judge. In 1942 he was elected to the canton's first social democratic government councilor; he headed the directorate of the interior . 1955-56 he served as state governors and from 1956 to 1962 as a bailiff . He kept his government council mandate until the end of his life. In 1959 he made the leap to the National Council , of which he was a member until 1965.

In addition, Landolt was president of the cantonal trade union cartel from 1934 to 1965 and a member of the central board of the Swiss Association of Textile and Factory Workers from 1946 to 1963, as well as the branch president of the dyeing, printing and finishing workers .
