Franz Langheinrich (born May 25, 1864 in Leipzig , † May 7, 1945 in Rottach-Egern ) was a German narrator and poet.

Life

Franz Langheinrich was best known for his work as a picture editor for the Art Nouveau magazine " Jugend " and was one of the main people responsible alongside Fritz von Ostini , Albert Matthäi and Georg Hirth . Langheinrich lived in Munich and Gauting as a narrator and poet. His folk song "You still rush, you old forests" was set to music by several composers. In his texts for the Würmtalführer, Langheinrich's critical stance towards the “overheated organism” of urban life and a plea for housing estate in the country can be seen.

On January 11, 1935, Langheinrich gave a speech on “Bolshevism in Politics and in the Future” in the Künstlerhaus on Lenbachplatz in Munich at the invitation of the German-nationalist German Art Society , which called for the artists to fight against the Marxist movements in art. The speech was so enthusiastically received by the Munich artists that they turned to Alfred Rosenberg , then Reichsleiter of the Cultural Office for Art Preservation, in a joint declaration of intent.
