Franz Matzke

Franz Matzke (born March 25, 1881 in Lugendorf , Lower Austria ; † August 13, 1957 in Gutenbrunn , Lower Austria) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Franz Matzke grew up in Lugendorf, a district of Sallingberg, where he also attended a one-class elementary school. Then he completed the state teacher seminar in St. Pölten . Matzke initially worked as a teacher in Schönbach and Gföhl . It was later used at schools in Martinsberg , Bärnkopf and, most recently, Gutenbrunn. He retired as a senior teacher in 1934.

Matzke's political career began in 1927 when he was elected mayor of Gutenbrunn. It was initially until 1934. In 1945 he only took over the agendas of the mayor again for a few months, as he was sworn in as a social democratic member of the Federal Council in Vienna in December 1945 . After leaving the Federal Council in November 1949, Matzke became mayor of Gutenbrunn for the third time. His third term lasted until 1954.
