Franz Ignatz Meyer (born May 7, 1882 in Holte ; † October 19, 1945 there ) was a German politician of the Center Party .

Franz Meyer was the eldest son of the court owner ( Meyerhof zu Holte) Benno Meyer , who was also a member of the Oldenburg state parliament from 1881 to 1904 and whose second wife Maria Elisabeth née. Rohling (1854-1887). After attending the secondary school in Quakenbrück , he did an agricultural apprenticeship in his father's business and at the Lengefeld manor near Korbach . He then began studying at the Agricultural University in Halle , which he had to break off due to the death of his father. In 1904 he took over his father's farm. Like his father, he also played a leading role in the Catholic peasant organizations. I.a. he was a board member of the German Christian Farmers 'Association in Berlin, chairman of the Oldenburg Farmers' Association and a member of the Oldenburg Chamber of Agriculture . He was active in local politics and was a member of the municipal council of Damme and the district council in Vechta. Franz Meyer was elected to the Oldenburg state parliament for the first time on June 6, 1920 and was re-elected in all subsequent state elections. From 1925 to 1931 he was Vice President of the Oldenburg State Parliament and successor to Heinrich Enneking , who had previously represented the constituency. Meyer was one of the leaders of the rural people's protest movement in 1928 and often took a direction that deviated from the political group. After the seizure of power Meyer was expelled from the state parliament on April 21, 1933.

From August 18, 1908 Meyer was with Agnes Leiber-Wehberg (1887-1958), the daughter of the Dammer businessman August Leiber (1859-1938) and Agnes geb. Wehberg (1856–1927) married. The couple had five children, of whom Benno August (* 1913) later ran the farm.
